trainwreck of a speaker meeting
my friend ben got his 30 day chip today. he’s only 3 days more sober than me. we went to the gucci meeting at hoag. the speaker last week was dynamic, and its a huge group of people. traditionally at speaker meetings, the leader is at the podium, and selected volunteers are asked to read either the 12 steps ‘how it works’, and the 12 traditions of aa. well the girl that read the 12 steps had a huge fear of public speaking. she stumbled through about 10 steps, got increasingly nervous and eventually puked behind the podium. she ran out and someone finished for her.
first time seeing someone vomit in a meeting. i like when stuff doesnt go as planned.
